3 Simple Ways To Kick Your Weight Loss into High Gear

So, you’re ready to lose weight and you want to lose it overnight, right? Could you imagine going to bed tonight and waking up tomorrow morning fit and trim and ready to live your new, wonderful life?

While that’s not probable without some sort of medical intervention or miracle (sorry to burst your bubble), that doesn’t mean that you can’t accelerate the process. There are things you can do to kick your weight loss into high gear.

They are:

Drink More Water

Most people don’t get enough of this very important natural beverage. When you’re adequately hydrated, you have more energy and your body functions more efficiently. You’re better able to process the nutrients in your food and eliminate all the toxins and waste.

Aim to drink 6-8 cups a day. And, if you don’t like plain water, try slicing up oranges, limes, lemons or cucumbers and adding them to your glass. They add a flavor punch without all the sugar or calories you find in other drinks.

Eat Your Fruits and Veggies

If you’re not getting your recommended 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, you’re missing out on maximum weight loss. Not only are these types of foods low in calories, but they’re also high in fiber which makes them filling, keeping your hunger at bay and your blood sugar stable.

Try to get at least the minimum of five servings daily. Add fruit to your breakfast yogurt, have a salad for lunch and sauté some veggies for a dinner side dish. You’ll get the vitamins and minerals your body needs and your waistline will shrink because of it.

Build Some Muscle

The more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism. And, the higher your metabolism, the more calories your body burns, even while at rest. That means that you can burn more fat even while you’re sleeping if you add more muscle mass to your body.

You don’t have to become a body builder to reap the benefits of strength training. By doing regular bodyweight exercises, such as push-ups and sit-ups every other day, you’ll be on your way to a fitter, trimmer you.
