Getting in shape is not easy, especially when money is an issue. These tips will help you reach your true fitness potential without breaking the bank.

1. Drink more Water

Water is essential for all aspects of the human body. Staying adequately hydrated not only helps you burn fat, it also helps support other vital motor skills. Avoid dehydration. Even slight levels of dehydration decrease your body’s ability to perform exercise to its full potential.

2. Outside Cardio

Doing cardio outside is a great way to burn some extra calories. To prevent injuries start by walking then gradually work your way into running. Another great thing about doing cardiovascular exercise outside, it’s FREE.

3.Take the Stairs

Next time you have to choose between elevator or stairs, pick the stairs. Taking the stairs over the elevator is another great way to increase your body’s total calorie expenditure.

4. Park far away

Pass up on the spot next to the door, and park on the far side of the lot and you will burn extra calories every day. If you are a student or live near your job avoid driving, and walk as much as possible.

5. Make your own meals

Buying lunch at school or work everyday can add up. On top of the cost, the amount of calories and nutrients you are ingesting remains unknown. Plan your meals ahead of time, your wallet and your body will thank you.

6. Write down your goals

Writing down your health and fitness goals helps you stay motivated and achieve them. Every few months take 5 minutes out of your day and envision what you want to achieve. Sitting down to write goals forces you to think exactly what you want to accomplish.

7. Track Progress

Taking progress pictures and recording workouts is a great way to get motivated, and stay motivated. You can see how far you have come and help stay focused on your goals.

Don’t let money be an excuse for not having the body you want. Anyone can apply these goals to their daily lives and begin to see results. These tips aren’t groundbreaking secrets, but neither is getting fit.

Consistency is key. Stay hydrated, stay active, and have a vision. The overall most important tip for achieving your goals is to be positive.
